Terms of Stay & Hostel Regulations

Last updated: May 2026. These rules are put in place to ensure a safe, peaceful, and harmonious living environment for all residents at BP Thaai PG.

1. Rental Payments & Deposits

  • Monthly Rent Due Date: Hostel rent must be paid on or before the 10th of every month. Upon payment, please collect the official rent receipt from the management.
  • Security Advance Deposit: An admission advance deposit of ₹3,000/- must be paid at the time of check-in.
  • Notice Period: Residents planning to vacate the hostel must notify the management at least one month in advance.
  • Mid-Month Vacations: If vacating in the middle of a billing month, rent will be charged on a daily pro-rata basis: ₹450/- per day for Non-A/C rooms, and ₹650/- per day for A/C rooms.
  • Non-Refundability: Under no circumstances or events will the rent or security advance deposit be refunded.

2. Security & Personal Belongings

  • Valuables Responsibility: Residents are solely responsible for securing their valuable personal items (laptops, jewelry, cash, mobile devices). Do not share or store personal items with other residents. The hostel management will not be held responsible for any loss or damage under any circumstances.
  • Financial Deals: The hostel administration does not take responsibility or liability for conflicts arising out of monetary borrowing or transactions between co-residents.

3. Entry Timings & Attendance

  • Night Curfew: Residents must return to the hostel premises by 10:00 PM daily. If you expect to be late due to work shifts or college classes, prior permission/information must be shared with the Warden.
  • Logs and Registers: Every resident must record their exit and entry timings in the attendance register at the gate logbook without fail.
  • Visitors/Guests: Prior permission must be obtained from the management before inviting any external guests or friends to visit.

4. Community Conduct & peaceful living

  • Zero External Disputes: Do not bring personal conflicts, outside disputes, or aggressive arguments onto the hostel premises. The environment must remain peaceful and quiet.
  • Harmonious Living: Residents are expected to behave politely and respectfully with co-residents, cooks, wardens, and cleaners.

5. Dining & Utility Operations

  • Mess Timings: Meals will only be served during the following hours:
    • Breakfast: 07:45 AM to 09:45 AM
    • Lunch: 01:00 PM onwards
    • Dinner: 07:30 PM to 09:30 PM
  • Cleanliness & Garbage: Keep your rooms and washrooms clean. Dispose of all wastes and sanitary pads inside the designated bins only.
  • Utility Savings: Electricity and water must be used conservatively. Switch off lights, fans, and A/C units when leaving your room.
  • Festival Closures: The hostel mess will remain closed for 3 days during the major festivals of Pongal and Diwali to allow our cooks and wardens to visit their families.

6. Grievance Redressal

  • Any physical issues with water supply, electrical fittings, or room cleaning must be logged immediately using the online complaint ticketing portal or directly submitted to the management office.
